U1245 Team4 (1)

The "Epigenetics and Pathophysiology of Neurodevelopmental Disorders" unit at the University of Rouen, conducts extensive research on Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD) and the effects of prenatal alcohol exposure (PAE)

The research is led by, among others, Bruno J. Gonzalez, Annie Laquerrière and Stéphane Marret, and focuses on understanding the mechanisms that lead to alcohol-induced brain damage and identifying biomarkers for early diagnosis.

Our team, affiliated with the French National Institute of Health and Medical Research (INSERM), has been working for over 20 years on neonatal brain injuries in close collaboration with pediatricians at the Rouen University Hospital. FASD is now a major axis of our research, and the researchers on the team are increasingly involved in European/International FASD research, notably by actively participating in EUFASD meetings (Arendal, Madrid, Amiens) to share our work with the European community.
