Call for Papers - The International Journal of Alcohol and Drug Research, a peer-reviewed, free-of-charge, open access journal
and the official Journal of the Kettil Bruun Society for Social and Epidemiological Research on Alcohol (KBS),
invites the submission of papers on biomedical, psychological, and sociological aspects related to Fetal Alcohol
Spectrum Disorder (FASD), to be featured in this special issue to be published in December, 2012.

Treviso, 9 Sep 2011 - On the occasion of the second FASD Awareness Day in Italy, the Local Health
Authority no. 9 of Treviso, Veneto Region, and Eurocare Italia presented the social communication
video "I don’t drink, my baby doesn’t drink." The protagonists of the video are “I Papu”, a local comedy duo,
and Lorenzo Bernardi, an internationally known volleyball player. To see the video, click

SAFFrance has met with the Minister of Health, Xavier Bertrand, to request measures to improve prevention,
diagnosis and management of FASD in France. A request was made to enlarge the warning labels on bottles of
alcoholic drinks to a minimum size of 1.5 x 1.3 cm.

Brussels, 7 Sep 2011 - Members of the European Parliament, the Commission, and representatives of numerous NGOs
met with Mr John Dalli, the Commissioner for Health and Consumer Policy, to discuss different ways to protect
unborn babies from the negative effects of alcohol at the EU level.
