Membership

Who can apply for membership in the European FASD Alliance?

Membership of the EUROPEAN FASD ALLIANCE is open to registered organizations concerned with FASD in all European countries, where European countries refers to the European Region as defined by the World Health Organization.

How can we apply?

Applications for admission to membership must be made to the Board of the EUROPEAN FASD ALLIANCE for approval. Please apply by sending an e-mail to info@eufasd.org with the name of your organization and a brief description of the activities.

How can we make our voice heard?

Member organizations represented in the General Assembly will elect the Chairperson and the Board, approve the budget, modify statutes, etc.

All member organizations in one country together will constitute the Local Section. Each Local Section elects or appoints two representatives to the General Assembly. Wherever possible, one representative should be a parent, relative or guardian of a person with FASD and one representative should be a professional, with specialized knowledge of or interest in FASD (i.e. medical, social, psychological, educational and/or juridical). Each representative has one vote in the General Assembly.

What are the membership fees?

The membership fee will be 25 euros for the remainder of the year 2011, and thereafter, 50 euros per year. This money will be used for the various running costs, such as website fees, postage and printing costs, as well as to form a fund for organization of the conferences. Note that there are no salaried personnel; Board and Council members work on a volunteer, nonpaid basis.

When is the next General Assembly?

A meeting of the General Assembly will be held at the European Conferences on FASD. The next Conference is scheduled for October 21 to 24, 2012, in Barcelona, Spain.

Can nonmember organizations send representatives to the General Assembly?

Nonmember organizations may send a nonvoting observer to meetings of the General Assembly.
